JEE Main photo & signature size
Fit the two scanned images for the JEE (Main) 2027 application: photograph between 10 KB and 200 KB, signature between 10 KB and 100 KB, both JPG/JPEG. Pick which one you are preparing, add the image, and convert.
The official size ranges, including the minimum
Most upload errors in the JEE Main form come from the range, not the format: each image has both a floor and a ceiling. The photograph must be at least 10 KB and at most 200 KB; the signature must be at least 10 KB and at most 100 KB. A file compressed below 10 KB is rejected just like an oversized one, so this page warns you when a result comes out under the minimum instead of quietly handing you an unusable file.

Note that many coaching and news sites still repeat the older 4–30 KB signature range. The numbers above are taken directly from the JEE (Main) 2027 Information Bulletin published by the National Testing Agency, checked on 2026-11-05 — if NTA issues a correction, the bulletin on jeemain.nta.nic.in is the version that counts.
How to prepare each image
For the photograph, start from the original camera file rather than a screenshot or a messaging-app copy, which are often already below 10 KB or stripped of detail. For the signature, sign in dark ink on plain white paper, photograph or scan it straight-on in good light, and crop away most of the empty page before converting — a tight crop keeps the strokes large inside the file size range. In both cases, if the result lands below 10 KB, use a larger original; enlarging a too-small result cannot restore detail.
Session 1 applications close on 22 November 2026 at 11:50 PM, so prepare the images before you sit down to fill the form.
