Shrink a photo or signature image to 20 KB or less, as a JPG. 'Shrink dimensions further if the target is missed' is already on, so the tool keeps going until the file fits.
A phone photo holds millions of pixels, and every pixel costs bytes. Lowering the JPG quality setting alone usually stalls well above 20 KB — at very low quality the picture turns blocky long before the file is small enough. The reliable way to reach 20 KB is to reduce the pixel dimensions as well, which is why this page enables extra shrinking by default: quality is lowered first, then the width and height step down until the result fits. The final dimensions are shown next to each result, so you can check them against your portal's minimum size, if it has one.
20 KB is a realistic target for small images: a scanned signature, a thumbnail, or a small ID-style photo. A signature on plain white paper compresses especially well because most of the frame is a single flat colour. If your original is a detailed photo, expect it to end up a few hundred pixels wide — fine for an upload slot, but keep the original file for anything you may print later.
Some portals also set a minimum file size (for example, "10 KB or larger"). If a result comes out below the minimum your portal asks for, start from a larger or less compressed original rather than re-saving the small result, which cannot add detail back.
Shrink up to 30 JPG, PNG, or WebP images at once, right in your browser. Set quality 40–95, target KB, and max width/height yourself — file contents and names never leave your device, and no signup is needed.
