Make an application or portal photo fit a 50 KB upload limit, as a JPG. The tool lowers quality first and only shrinks dimensions when quality alone is not enough.
50 KB is a common ceiling on exam, job, and government application portals, and a phone photo is typically 60 to 100 times larger. This tool works in the order that keeps the picture looking best: it first brings oversized dimensions down to a sensible maximum, then searches for the highest JPG quality that still fits under 50 KB. Only if that is not enough does it step the dimensions down further — that option is already switched on here — and the final pixel size is printed next to every result.
A passport-style photo against a plain background usually reaches 50 KB at a comfortable size, because flat areas are cheap to store. A busy group photo needs more aggressive shrinking, so check the result at full size before you submit it: faces and printed text should still be readable.
Watch for a minimum as well as a maximum. Some portals reject files that are too small (a range such as 10–200 KB is common). If your result lands below your portal's minimum, re-run it from a bigger original instead of enlarging the compressed file.
Shrink up to 30 JPG, PNG, or WebP images at once, right in your browser. Set quality 40–95, target KB, and max width/height yourself — file contents and names never leave your device, and no signup is needed.
