How to use an online timer for focused work

Set any duration or tap a preset (1, 5, 10, 25, or 60 minutes), press Start, and the countdown runs with a live progress bar and an alarm at the end. The remaining time also appears in the browser tab title, so it stays visible while you work elsewhere.

What this timer does

Custom durations

Enter hours, minutes, and seconds directly for any length of countdown.

One-tap presets

1 min, 5 min, 10 min, 25 min (Pomodoro), and 1 hour buttons for common tasks.

Alarm and progress

An audible alarm sounds at zero, with a progress bar and tab-title countdown while running.

1. Pick a duration

Match the timer to the task. Short presets suit quick breaks and reminders; the 25-minute preset is the standard Pomodoro focus block.

TaskSuggested preset
Short break between tasks5 min
Focused work session25 min
Meeting or call reminder10 min
Long study or cooking session1 hour

These are starting points. For anything in between, type the exact hours, minutes, and seconds.

2. Start, pause, and reset

  1. Enter a duration or tap a preset chip.
  2. Press Start. The display counts down and the tab title shows the remaining time.
  3. Use Pause to freeze the countdown, then Start again to resume.
  4. Press Reset to clear back to your chosen duration.
Start the timer

3. Run a Pomodoro session

  • Tap the 25 min preset and press Start for one focus block.
  • When the alarm sounds, tap the 5 min preset for a short break.
  • Repeat four times, then take a longer break with the 10 min or custom duration.
Keep the browser tab open while the timer runs. The alarm plays in the browser, so make sure your device volume is on.

Privacy and limitations

Everything runs locally in your browser — no install, no signup, no data sent anywhere. The timer is a simple countdown: it does not save sessions, sync across devices, or send notifications outside the browser tab.

FAQ

Will the timer keep running if I switch tabs?

Yes. The remaining time is shown in the browser tab title, so you can see the countdown while working in another tab. The alarm sounds when the time is up.

What happens when the timer finishes?

The display changes color, the progress bar completes, and an audible alarm plays in the browser. Press Reset to start over.

Can I set a custom time, or only presets?

Both. Enter any hours, minutes, and seconds directly, or tap a preset: 1 min, 5 min, 10 min, 25 min, or 1 hour.

Is the 25-minute preset a Pomodoro timer?

It works the same way: a 25-minute focus block followed by a break. Use the 5-minute preset for short breaks and the 25-minute preset for each focus session.

Does the timer send any data anywhere?

No. The timer runs entirely in your browser with no account, no signup, and no network requests.
